HDD makes noice..

Bought a new hdd to my laptop. A Hitachi 7200 rpm 250 gig nothing spectacular. Just a bit bigger than my original. To my distress the hdd makes a high frequent noise, not that strong. It can only be heard when there's no sound around. It sounds louder when the disk reads/writes and that it does quite constantly. The disk itself function perfectly but makes this annoying sound, and I cannot cope with it.
Is it "normal" and I am not, or is it a faulty drive?

Could it be that the drive is vibrating a little?

Check that it's mounted properly.
A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

I know how to mount my vibrating driver, and have a history of three wild ones due to that..
Concerning the hdd, it is not loose at all, two screws in the hdd cover and two in the computer so its like stuck..
