World of Warcraft becomes 'Free'

Blizzard Entertainment announces that genre-leader will become free to play to level 20, following in the footsteps of other large franchises...

New users will be allowed to play for nothing up to level 20 in a scheme which replaces the previously time limited trial (and would give an estimated 15-20 hours of game play for the average user). With around 11m subscribers and annual revenues of $900m, Blizzard obviously felt that they didn't have enough players already...
